Dr. Naomi Fair’s research focuses on the intersection of racism and ableism in schooling and critical inquiry-based professional learning. In her work, she draws on the fields of disability studies in education, disability critical race theory, critical disability studies, critical pedagogy, and her own experiences is a former K-12 educator. Using participatory research methods, Dr. Fair prioritizes co-designing critical inquiry spaces in which collaborators work to understand and recognize educational injustice and cultivate collective resistance in solidarity with disabled and multiply marginalized students.
Dr. Fair’s scholarship has been published in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Teacher Leadership, Inclusive Practices, American Quarterly, and the Handbook of Research on Special Education Teacher Preparation.
