Eva Lupold recently accepted for publication in Girlhood Studies 7.2 (Winter 2014)
Eva’s article, “Adolescence in Action: Screening Narratives of Girl Killers,” argues that action-adventure films featuring tween and teenage girls are becoming increasingly popular due to cultural anxieties over changes in nuclear family structures, as well as recent shifts in cultural attitudes towards girlhood sexuality and aggression. Her essay also analyzes why it might be regressive to imply that maintaining moral order is solely the responsibility of young girls.
