Dr. Kate Cairns recently published an article in Gender and Education entitled “Both here and elsewhere: Rural girls’ contradictory visions of the future.” Drawing upon ethnographic research in a rural elementary school in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Cairns brings an analysis of place to debates about gendered subjectivity formation. The article is part of a special issue on Education and the Global Rural: Feminist Perspectives.
