University Community Collaborative

The University-Community Collaborative is an initiative housed at Temple University dedicated to building a network of individuals committed to youth-led civic engagement across Philadelphia schools, communities, and campuses. Through a project-based learning framework, we guide youth through identifying, recognizing, and researching issues that impact their lives and communities. Rooted in our values of social change, youth gain technical and socio-emotional skills needed to become leaders and create networks of change.

Interning at University Community Collaborative:

The University Community Collaborative at Temple University is seeking reliable student leaders to serve as facilitators, mentors, and coaches for high school students in our after school and summer programs. Interns with the UCC, guide high school students through the creation of media projects that help them explore issues relevant to their communities while developing social and emotional skills.

Our three programs include:

POPPYN: Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30pm

VOICES: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:30-6:30pm

Interns work closely with staff to plan and implement weekly sessions for groups of 10-15 high school students, prioritizing youth voice and choice. Additional administrative support may be included as capacity allows.
