Former Mellon Foundation Intern Israel Miller Receives The Chancellor’s Award for Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement

Former Mellon Foundation intern Israel Miller,  a senior at Rutgers University Camden majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in English, received the 2025 Chancellor’s Award for Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement in Student Civic Engagement. Israel interned in 2024 at POPPYN, an award-winning social justice media program in Philadelphia that supports high school students to transform local media by highlighting their missing perspectives, contributions, and concerns. Israel helped the youth produce short films, journalistic segments, and episodes exploring issues such as youth homelessness, environmental justice, and the foster care system and was subsequently hired by the organization after the internship! We are proud to celebrate Israel’s accomplishments and congratulate him on receiving this honor from Chancellor Antonio D. Tillis, Ph.D!
