The American Public Health Association (APHA) has selected Mary Louise Mitsdarffer, PhD candidate in Childhood Studies, as a 2020-2021 Maternal and Child Health(MCH) Fellow. As a Maternal and Child Health Fellow Mary will receive award monies to support her attendance at the 2020 APHA annual meeting, where she will present a poster titled The impacts of immigration enforcement policies on latinx children’s health and well-being. Mary will also attend leadership and MCH organizational meetings that will determine the strategies and priorities of the MCH section of the APHA in 2020-21. Mary will serve on an MCH section committee and receive one-on-one mentoring to aid in her professional development and provide her guidance on specific projects. As a fellow Mary is delighted for the opportunity and to have been selected for this prestigious national fellowship.
