“Girls’ Studies in the Rural” – new chapter by Dr. Kate Cairns

Dr. Kate Cairns has contributed a chapter to Feminisms and Ruralities, a collection of feminist scholarship edited by Barbara Pini, Berit Brandth, and Jo Little. Childhood Studies researchers receive $69,968 grant from New Jersey Health Initiatives

Dr. Robin Stevens (Assistant Professor) and Neeta Goel (PhD Candidate) received a three year grant to evaluate the effects of a new community center on the Cramer Hill neighborhood in Camden. New Article by Dr. Lauren Silver Published in The Urban Review

Dr. Lauren Silver’s article, “Urban School Formation: Identity Work and Constructing an Origin Story,” was recently published in The Urban Review.  The article ethnographically traces the identity work involved in establishing Shearwater High School, a charter school to reengage youth who had dropped out of St. Louis Public Schools.
